Our intervention

starboard - un coeur pour la paixEvery week A Heart for Peace takes care of a Palestinian child suffering from severe, often deadly congenital cardiopathy by getting him the possibility to undergo heart surgery.
In order to take care of those pathologies, states of the art surgical techniques are needed. This expertise exists in the department of paediatric cardiology and paediatric cardiac surgery at the Israeli hospital Hadassah in Jerusalem. At Hadassah hospital, those children are taken care by mixed team of Israeli and Palestinian physicians.
Sick Palestinian children have access free of charge to the same level of care than any Israeli child whatever religion they belong to.

The association plays a role in funding the training of new human resourcesechocardiographes - Un coeur pour la paix

  • Training of Palestinian physicians, 4 so far, to cardiac echocardiography and/or to cathetherism
  • Training of a technician from St Joseph hospital, in East Jerusalem, to echocardiography
  • Training of a Palestinian genetic counselor to advice familiers
  • 3 portable echocardiographic machines, a transoesophageal probe and a starboard were provided
